Most birthday sessions take place in the studio, but location sessions are just as good.

Here are a few examples so you know exactly what to do

Location Session

Location sessions are shot using natural light from the sun and sometimes a small flash. This allows for a more natural looking photo while giving a soft effect on the skin. These are great for incorporating scenery.
Studio Sessions

Studio sessions are shot with flashes, backdrops, and props that we use to create your very own scene. This requires a little bit more creativity but yields a unique product that stands out among the rest. Small details like makeup, hair, and jewelry should not be overlooked in this type of session.

A lot of clients who come to me struggle with positioning themselves in front of the camera. I suggest keeping three things in mind: your hands, head, and feet.
The simplest movements will change the outcome of an image, so just worry about the placement of these three things. Try crossing your feet or tilting your head a little. Reach towards the camera or place your hands on your head. Trust me — these movements are simple and look great in photos!

Makeup & hair

I recommend finalizing your hair and makeup plans as soon as you book with me. If you are booking with a hair stylist or makeup artist, don’t hesitate to schedule your appointment. Also, give yourself time to figure out the overall theme of the shoot, as well as the details..
Studio sessions include use of a bright flash that will highlight more imperfections, so be mindful of this when deciding on your makeup look.

I want you to have fun! Bring a playlist to play music on the speakers and bring a friend to hype you up. The more comfortable you are, the better the images.
